Dr Belward (JRC) joins ISEPEI SUNs in 2017
The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) confirmed contributing to Syslab's SUNs (https://syslab.ceu.edu/summer-courses) in 2017. Dr Alan Belward, the Head of the Knowledge for Sustainable Development & Food Security Unit, will run a day long session within the course on "Geospatial Technologies for Sustainable Water Management" on July 3-7th (https://syslab.ceu.edu/courses/geospatial-2017). Dr Belward already participated to similar Syslab's courses in 2016 with a series of very succesfull presentations and practical exercises on remote sensing and sattelite technologies. We expect 2 more JRC Units to be represented (Disaster Management and Water Resources) at this course as well as the second Syslab course "Innovations in Disaster Risk Reduction" on July 24-28th 2017 (https://syslab.ceu.edu/courses/drr-2017).
The deadline for SUN applications was extended. Please consider applying and spreading the word.
The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) signed in 2016 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central European University (CEU) that establishes the basis for future collaboration in a series of areas of common interest. Participation of JRC experts in Syslab's SUNs on using ICTs in achieving SDGs and Disaster RIsk Reduction in 2016 were the first joint activities outlined in MoU.
