Budapest Water Summit: Viktor Lagutov contributes to Civil Society and Science Forums

Viktor Lagutov joins the high level Budapest Water Summit, Budapest, Hungary, 8-11 October 2013. To move forward the post-Rio water agenda the President of Hungary announced 2012 in Rio de Janeiro Hungary’s intention to organize an international conference under the auspices of the United Nations in October 2013 in Budapest, Hungary. The 2013 Budapest Water Summit forms part of the events of the UN International Year of Water Cooperation led by UNESCO. With the participation of UN Member States, competent UN agencies and bodies as well as all concerned economic and social partners the Summit aims to contribute to the elaboration of the water-related Sustainable Development Goals and provide concrete guidance on the most pressing water issues – drinking water, sanitation, waste water treatment, integrated water management, international water cooperation, innovative water technologies – with a view to defining the priorities of global development policy post 2015.  Viktor Lagutov Is contributing to the Summit's Civil Society and Science Forums.
