As a part of the "Bridging ICTs and Environment: Making Information Talk and Technologies Work" Summer University course, Ed Parsons of the Google UK office held a day-long interactive workshop in CEU's new Smart Room (Nador 11, 004). Ed's workshop covered the use of Google's mapping products, notably Google Earth and Google Maps Engine, for water management and water security applications. Participants were able to develop relevant maps, publish them, and have them immediately available to millions of people.

The Bridging ICTs and Environment course is being run by the ISEPEI Project, a joint project of UNEP's Global Universities Partnership on Environment and Sustainability (GUPES) and CEU, in preparation for the Eye on Earth Summit in Abu Dhabi in October 2015.
