Congratulations to Anastasia Kvasha on the successful defense of her PhD dissertation on challenges and prospects in the application of space-based information and technologies for disaster management. The defense concluded with awarding summa cum laude. This research project applied network analysis techniques to explore the structure and activations of satellite-based emergency mapping mechanisms. It also analyzed the role and activities of the United Nations Platform for Space-based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response (UN-SPIDER) coordinated by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA).
