The Environmental Practicum course, coordinated by Syslab, supported the activities of the recently established OSUN Science Shop program of the CEU Community Engagement Office.
In the first year of this initiative, the Environmental Practicum course connected two master students from the Department of Environment Sciences and Policy with the Science Shop’s community partner - SEEK Feminist Research Network. Within the course’s framework, students conducted internships at this organization over the Winter term of 2022. Their tasks and experiences are highlighted in the Science Shop report on the program’s activities within the first year.
The Science Shop program of the CEU Community Engagement Office is financed by OSUN for the academic years 2021/22 and 2022/23. CEU partnered with the Vilnius-based European Humanities University (EHU) to run the two-year pilot program.
The Science Shop program engages citizens, civil society organizations, and public entities in collaboration with the university, by transforming their questions or requests into course projects, internships, thesis work, or other academic research cooperation.
