Syslab's Alumna Paromita Basak Awarded Prestigious NASA FINESST Grant

Paromita Basak, a graduate of  Syslab and the CEU's Environmental Science and Policy Department, has been awarded a $150,000 research grant by NASA’s Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) program. This prestigious grant will support her PhD research at the University of Maryland, where she is working on “Analyzing Spatial Co-Benefits of Carbon and Structural Diversity in Southeast Asia with GEDI.”

This year’s ISEPEI summer workshop on “Geospatial Technologies for Monitoring SDGs: Early Warnings for All” concluded with a resounding success. Held on July 22-26 at Central European University (CEU), the event brought together almost 50 experts and participants from diverse backgrounds to explore the applications of geospatial technologies in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhancing disaster resilience.
