Contributing to Environmental Education in Myanmar

EnviSci and Policy PhD candidate Natalia Pervushina will be teaching at the University of Yangon in Myanmar as CEU Global Teaching Fellow from December 2017 until March 2018. Natalia’s presence at YU is instrumental to the launching of the new undergraduate program in Environmental Sciences and to the improving of the diploma program which trains Myanmar government employees and local NGOs workers.

ISEPEI contributes to organization of International Conference on the Use of Space Technology for Water Management

Dr Lagutov was appointed a member of the International Programme Committee of the 4th International Conference on the Use of Space Technology for Water Management co-organized by United Nations, the Government of Pakistan and the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water.

The Conference aims to promote the use of space technology in water management to the benefit of developing countries.

Many leading experts in Geospatial technologies have contributed to ISEPEI Summer Universities on "Water management" and "Disaster RIsk Reduction" in July 2017. United Nations offices, Google, Esri, Airbus, European Comission's Joint Reserach Center can be mentioned among other organizations presented.The recordings of their presentations are made publicly available at Syslab's website and CEU video hub.

Syslab's "Geospatial Humanities" in Visual Studies Program

The course on "Geospatial Humanities and Mapping technologies" offered by Syslab in 2017-2018 is included into the non-degree certificate program in Visual Theory and Practice (VTP). VTP offers students the core knowledge and the skills to pursue visual research related to their own fields of study.
